Business and Charity: Do They Mix?

At first glance, businesses and charities seem to be on opposite ends of the financial spectrum. It’s easy to believe the corporate world has no place in the non-profit sector—but the truth is there are endless advantages to businesses making charity work a priority.
Creating a partnership with a local charity will convey to your customers that you want to make a bigger impact on the world, not just collect a profit. Your consumers don’t care about your profits; they care about how you use them to make the world we live in a better place.
The benefits to partnering with a charity can also spill over into your daily workplace, making your employees even happier to be a part of your company. You can promote a cause for them to support and work as a team to reach your goals.
Here are just a few ways you can successfully mix the corporate culture with charity work:
A great way to boost employee morale and build a team atmosphere is by setting aside a day where you can all volunteer together. Here at FCW, we’re always looking for groups to come help with our clothes packing/sorting ministry.
Every year, FCW hosts our Benefit Dinner & Auction. Your business can get involved by offering to donate services, resources, or even auction prizes—depending on what your business specializes in.
Your employees are probably all passionate about different things. Why not give them a chance to showcase those passions? Our FCW Christmas Catalog allows donors to choose which part of our ministry they want their funds to be designated to.
One of the reasons we love being part of a small community is that there are so many small businesses in our area. When we partner together, there’s no limit to the number of lives we could change. Let us know if you’d like to learn more about how your business can make an impact on the lives of forgotten children across the globe!
