Volunteer Spotlight – Karen Yoder

There is no such thing as a “small” job when it comes to volunteering at Forgotten Children. Everyone who walks through the doors and serves alongside the team plays a crucial role in the mission of empowering children across the globe. After three years of being involved with FCW, Karen Yoder has seen firsthand the impact that one person can have.
Three years ago, Matt approached Karen and told her FCW was in need of volunteers—and the rest is history. Since then, Karen has served at the front desk by greeting people who come to FCW, directing visitors to the right place, answering phone calls, and making sure administrative tasks run smoothly.
With Karen’s help, people who enter FCW feel welcomed and appreciated—which ultimately leads to the recruitment of even more volunteers. “I love volunteering for FCW because I get to work with a great group of people and meet others who care about this mission, too,” says Karen.
No matter what your skillset is, how you prefer to serve, or what you like to do, FCW can make a place for you on our team. Just ask Karen—she’s living proof. “Because I volunteer here, I get to see children being sponsored and know they’re receiving the help they need,” she says.
