Where Business Meets Mission: Making an Impact that Lasts

Success isn’t just measured in profits. It’s also measured in purpose.

Businesses that align with a cause, give back to their communities, and empower global change are living out a higher calling. At Forgotten Children Worldwide (FCW), we’ve seen firsthand how businesses can grow stronger while helping vulnerable children move from crisis to self-sufficiency.

1. Purpose-Driven Businesses Thrive

Consumers are drawn to businesses that stand for something meaningful. When your mission includes fighting child poverty or helping prevent trafficking, you build trust, stand out in the market, and create deeper connections with your audience.

Proverbs 19:17 (NIV) says, “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.” Your generosity isn't just good business. It's a way to honor God.

2. Generosity Builds Stronger Teams

When employees are invited to serve and give back, the workplace becomes more than just a job. It becomes a space of purpose and pride. Whether it’s matching donations, volunteering together, or packing clothes for children in need, these experiences create unity.

True generosity starts at the top. When business owners lead by example (giving their own time, talents, and resources) it inspires their team to do the same.

As Jesus said in Matthew 6:21 (NIV), “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Giving isn’t a distraction from your work. It can be the heart of your workplace culture.

3. Strategic Giving Is Smart Stewardship

Giving doesn't always mean writing a check. You can give stock, real estate, equipment, or other assets that come with tax benefits and long-term impact. It’s a smarter way to give while still protecting your financial goals.

Just like you track business performance, you can also measure your giving. Whether it’s a percentage of profits, volunteer hours, or number of kids sponsored, having clear goals helps your impact grow with your business.

Luke 16:11 (NIV) says, “So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?” Generosity begins with stewardship.

4. Global Impact Builds Local Trust

When your business partners with a global nonprofit like FCW, you're showing customers and employees that you care about more than just the bottom line. You're part of a story that reaches far beyond your city limits.

FCW sponsorships and programs are changing lives across Uganda, Malawi, Madagascar, Nepal, and India. Children who were once facing abuse, abandonment, or generational poverty are now learning skills, gaining education, and stepping into adulthood with dignity and purpose.

This transformation would not be possible without the generosity of sponsors and business partners who chose to act.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:14 (NIV), “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” Your generosity speaks loudly.

5. Partnership Can Be Simple

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to generosity. Start with what fits your team best, then get creative.

You don’t need to launch a major campaign or overhaul your business model. One company might match employee donations, another might sponsor an international project. Start with something small: a lunch and learn, sponsoring an FCW event, rounding up transactions for charity, or inviting your team to pack clothes at FCW’s Bluffton location.

We’ll provide the stories, tools, and follow-up reports to make your impact tangible and inspiring.

Empower your employees and celebrate their involvement. Generosity becomes contagious when teams are recognized for the difference they’re making.

In Luke 12:48 (NIV), Jesus reminds us, “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded.” Businesses have a unique ability to lead with generosity and create ripple effects of hope around the world. When you partner with FCW, your success becomes a tool to protect, empower, and love the world’s most vulnerable children.
